Move Over With Michelle Pullins

Every once in a while, a book comes along that just grabs you. Something charming, witty, adorable and just plain GOOD. Michelle Pullins is both author and illustrator of Move Over. This is a book that will grab you too.

The basis of the book is a family of animals on a journey and something really, really big gets in the way. They need God to show up…and He does! Get your own copy of Move Over on Amazon.

In my opinion, this is like Dr. Seuss for Christians. It’s THAT good.

Recently I interviewed Michelle for Too Me, To Fit In. Michelle is a personal friend and a creative genius.

Tell us a little about your background.

I grew up as a pastor’s kid in the state of Tennessee! In the early 90’s, I began learning how to be a ventriloquist and clowning around… literally. Next thing I know, God began placing me in ministry with amazing leaders. I’ve had the privilege of serving with some really creative teams as a kids evangelist, children’s pastor and also preschool ministry.

What inspired you to write, Move Over?

In January 2003, I was diagnosed with adult-onset epilepsy. I was told I would have it for the rest of my life. It was horrible news, and was a huge like a mountain! My family and church family (especially kids) had prayed for me for 7 months… Jesus healed me in July 2004! Because of my family’s experience, I wanted to help other families when problems get in their way along their journey through life. I wanted to create a tool for people to use to help them talk to kids about faith!

What message did you want to communicate to children?

God is real, He loves them, He speaks to them, and He has given them faith to move mountains.

What do you believe is important to teach children in today's world?

No matter what your current situation looks like, you can trust God to do the impossible.

Are there any projects you are working on currently?

I’m currently working on talkbox, a tool to help people talk to kids about faith! This box is the first in a series of boxes with different themes. This first box goes along with the book I wrote, Move Over.

The MOVE OVER talkbox consists of conversation starter devotionals and prayers, activities to reinforce the conversations, and surprises... all featuring characters from the book!
